Job summary

The University of Chicago's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology seeks full-time faculty at any rank to contribute to all clinical aspects of the multidisciplinary Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) program at Ingalls Memorial Hospital and the Hyde Park campus, including high-risk pregnancy evaluation, inpatient and outpatient care, and building a productive clinical portfolio.

Responsibilities include teaching and supervision of trainees and medical students, plus ongoing scholarly activity.

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent medical doctorate required.
• Hold or be eligible for medical licensure in Illinois.
• Completed accredited fellowship in MFM or equivalent experience.
• Board certified or eligible in MFM.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to all clinical aspects of the multidisciplinary MFM program.
• Evaluate and manage high-risk pregnancy patients both inpatient and outpatient.
• Teach and supervise trainees and medical students; engage in scholarly activity.

Job description

Description The University of Chicago's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is searching for full-time faculty members at any rank. Appointees will contribute to all clinical aspects of the multidisciplinary Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) program at Ingalls Memorial Hospital and the Hyde Park campus, including the evaluation and management of high-risk pregnancy patients, inpatient and outpatient care, and a productive clinical portfolio. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees, medical students and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent on qualifications. We are an academic section with a high outpatient obstetrical volume, consultation service, and a large ultrasound unit with a fetal center, in addition to being a tertiary referral center for surrounding hospitals through our perinatal network. Other features of our program include strong preeclampsia research, a placenta center, obstetrical quality, an OB anesthesia program, as well as our exemplary Labor and Delivery unit.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must:

1. 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent,
2. 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois,
3. 3) have completed an accredited fellowship in MFM or have equivalent experience,
4. 4) be Board certified or eligible in MFM.
