Join a team that’s changing what’s possible

The Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Maternal Fetal Medicine clinician-educator to join their expanding division in Charleston, SC. The candidate will play a key role in educating future Maternal Fetal Medicine leaders and improving access to specialized care for high-risk OB/GYN patients in Charleston and surrounding areas.

In 2020, MUSC opened the Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital and Pearl Tourville Women’s Pavilion, a state-of-the-art 250-bed facility transforming fetal, women’s, and children’s care in the region. Supporting this is the Charles P. Darby Children’s Research Institute, the largest pediatric research facility in the Carolinas and one of only 15 nationwide.

Candidate requirements include:

• Board certification or eligibility in Maternal Fetal Medicine
• Interest in teaching and outreach, with an academic orientation
• New graduates are encouraged to apply

Position details:

• Teaching medical students, residents, and fellows
• Join a team of 11 MFM physicians, APPs, and support staff
• Clinic schedule: 3 full days/week, seeing 15-25 patients per clinic, plus 1 admin day at the Prenatal Wellness Center or outreach clinics
• Call schedule: one weekend backup call and 2-3 weekdays/month
• Inpatient schedule: 4 weeks/year, one week per quarter
• Travel within South Carolina to provide care
• No research obligations
