Job description

Overview

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of South Alabama, Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine is recruiting candidates for our Maternal Fetal Medicine Division at the level of Assistant Professor. The physician will provide outpatient and inpatient consultative services for high‑risk pregnancies within a robust referral base encompassing South Central Alabama and the Gulf Coast.

Responsibilities

Provide outpatient and inpatient consultative services for high‑risk pregnancies; deliver patient care, telehealth services, and support for antepartum and labor and delivery units. Participate actively in medical and student education and contribute to research and educational initiatives in Women’s Health.

Qualifications

Must have a MD or DO degree; successfully completed a 4‑year ACGME‑accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology residency and an ABOG‑recognized Maternal Fetal Medicine fellowship; be board‑certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal Fetal Medicine; hold licensure from the Alabama Medical Board prior to commencement of employment. Candidate must have an interest in medical and student education with potential growth in genetics and opioid use during pregnancy.
