The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is seeking an outstanding BC/BE fellowship-trained maternal-fetal medicine specialist to join the Wake Forest Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine in an open-rank faculty position serving the communities of Wilkesboro and Hickory, NC. The successful candidate will join a division that includes eleven MFM faculty members, six MFM fellows, three genetic counselors, and a large cohort of outstanding sonographers, providing care to women with high-risk pregnancies at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem and surrounding communities.
Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center is a 900-bed tertiary care facility in Winston-Salem, serving as the anchor for Wake Forest Baptist Health System. The system delivers approximately 5,000 babies annually and acts as a referral center for women across western North Carolina, eastern Tennessee, and southern Virginia.
The MFM Division has an ACGME-certified maternal-fetal medicine fellowship with a long history of training outstanding providers. The program is approved for two fellows per year, and the successful candidate will be expected to participate actively in fellow education. The division also has a robust clinical, basic, and translational research program, including state-of-the-art laboratory space, laboratory technicians, clinical research coordinators, and regulatory experts.
The Wake Forest Department of Ob/Gyn comprises an Ob/Gyn generalist division and subspecialty divisions in maternal-fetal medicine, reproductive endocrinology, gynecologic oncology, and gynecologic specialties such as minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and pediatric and adolescent gynecology. The department offers an excellent obstetrics and gynecology residency training program (six residents per year) and fellowships in MFM, gynecologic oncology, and female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery.
