Job summary

Texas Department of State Health Services in Austin, TX, seeks a Director I to lead the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Operations. You will oversee HR, IT, financial and grant management, and daily section coordination, guiding staff and shaping budgets and policies.

Under supervision, you will supervise staff, manage contracts, coordinate grants, and report to the MCH Section Director, contributing to strategic initiatives and legislative liaison. Telework eligible; travel up to 20% may apply.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a science or liberal arts major.
• Master's degree in public health or public administration preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in maternal and child health or similar program.
• Experience in supervision of employees including hiring, staff development and evaluation.
• Experience in human resources, information technology, financial, contract, and grant management.
• Experience in program planning and management.
