This position will be filled as a Materials Verification Specialist or Senior Materials Verification Specialist, commensurate on selected candidate's skills.
The Materials Verification Specialist role conducts receipt inspection of safety and non-safety related material with regulatory/quality requirements to accept/reject materials and/or services for use at nuclear power stations. Maintains data and documentation for tracking and trending. Conducts testing activities in materials verification laboratory on safety and non-safety materials. Verifies test equipment and calibrates for accuracy.
The Senior Materials Verification Specialist role conducts detailed inspections of safety and non-safety related material with regulatory/quality requirements to accept/reject materials and/or services for use at nuclear power stations. Develops and maintains databases and data gathering instruments for material verification lab. Conducts and/or advises on complex testing activities on safety and non-safety materials including Fourier transform infrared spectrometry, high energy circuit breaker performance testing, relief valve function tests, etc. Researches station deviation reports and vendor material deficiency notices for applicability and determines if material is stocked. Assists in expediting material needs and resolving deficiencies. Performs duties of supervisor in his/her absence. Develops materials verification testing procedures and assists in development of administrative procedures. Conducts qualification training on material verification laboratory test equipment and provides certification program.
Training will be conducted at the Innsbrook, VA office location.
High School Graduate or GED (equivalency not accepted in lieu of required degree).
Travel Up to 25%; Office Work Environment 26-50%; Outdoors 51-75%.
