Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or suitable education/experience in textiles or materials
• 10+ years direct, relevant work experience in apparel materials
• Experience in material development from concept to commercialization
• Knowledge of yarns, knitting, weaving, dyeing, printing, finishing, and trim development
• Experience partnering with vendors and manufacturing partners to develop products
• Ability to evaluate material construction, performance, cost, and manufacturability
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and leadership capabilities
• Excellent communication and ability to influence internal/external partners
• Growth mindset and passion for innovation in materials

Responsibilities

• Drive material and trim development from concept through commercialization
• Collaborate with Design, Product Management, Technical Development, Sourcing, and Manufacturing teams
• Lead material testing, validation, and risk assessment
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across materials function
• Translate insights into actionable material development strategies
• Champion long-term material innovation initiatives across cross-functional teams
• Maintain understanding of material performance in final garments
• Identify material risks early and provide clear recommendations
• Improve processes to reduce lead times and increase quality
• Foster collaboration and develop team capabilities across the organization
