• We have a June 2025 opening for a full-time, Entry Level, Materials Testing Technician based at our White River Junction, Vermont office and working on construction projects throughout Vermont and parts of New Hampshire.

No prior experience is required; we will train and pay you while you learn. Typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends and overtime during the construction season. You will perform field tests on materials such as concrete, soil, aggregate, asphalt, grout, mortar, and steel, often being the only S.W. Cole team member on site but interacting with others from different companies. The work can be physical, involving lifting samples, walking through sites, or pushing a wheelbarrow. Safety is a priority, and appropriate gear such as safety-toe boots will be provided.

Basic math skills and the ability to document observations and test results using a computer or tablet are necessary. You will learn to read design plans and specifications and may work in our laboratory or undergo further training for certifications.
