Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a Materials Supervisor in Gilbert, AZ to lead material handling, safety, and 5S initiatives. You will manage a team of 10–20, ensure timely material delivery, and coordinate with planning, production, and quality to maintain continuity.

The role requires 3–5 years in materials management, 2+ years in supervision, and strong ERP experience (Sage/SAP/Oracle). A Lean/5S mindset and excellent communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing materials, logistics, warehousing, or inventory management.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory leadership experience.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Sage, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
• Excellent communication, problem solving (including 8D, 5-Why and A3 problem solving methodology), and organizational skills.
• Experience with 5S and lean practices.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control principles and warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Champion a safety-first culture through daily coaching and hazard identification.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, PPE and material-handling procedures.
• Maintain 5S practices and organized storage.
• Manage inbound receiving, put-away, replenishment, kitting, and outbound shipping.
• Coordinate with Planning, Production, and Quality to resolve discrepancies quickly.
• Lead, coach, and develop Material Handlers and Warehouse staff.
• Drive On-Time Delivery (OTD) and material availability.
