Job summary

SteelSummit is seeking a Materials Supervisor to lead a production team, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in a plant environment. You will report to the Plant Manager and supervise daily activities, coordinate materials, and drive continuous improvement.

You will mentor staff, enforce SOPs, and work cross-functionally with Quality, Maintenance, and Logistics to resolve issues and meet delivery goals. A strong safety mindset and hands-on leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven supervisory experience in manufacturing/industrial environments, preferably steel.
• Strong leadership to motivate, coach, and develop teams for operational excellence.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities to drive improvements.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and production management software.
• Commitment to safety, integrity, and continuous improvement.
• Clear communication across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of production employees to meet targets and safety standards.
• Oversee daily production activities, scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate material flow with Material Handling to meet deadlines.
• Conduct audits to ensure quality and adherence to SOPs.
• Investigate incidents and administer first aid when required.
• Maintain housekeeping and 5S for audit readiness.
• Communicate with Quality, Maintenance, HR, and Logistics to resolve issues.
