Job summary

3M HEALTHCARE is seeking a Material Handling Supervisor to oversee inbound/outbound shipments, inventory control, and warehouse layout at Bridgewater Interiors II in Michigan. You will train and develop the material handling team and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.

The role requires 3–5 years in manufacturing with at least 2 years in supervision, and a degree in supply chain is preferred. 2nd shift (5:30pm–4am) is required.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 Years inside Manufacturing with at least 2 years as a Supervisor.
  • Degree in Supply Chain Preferred (Recent Graduate with at least 1 year in a Supply Chain Internship/Co-Op inside Manufacturing could be considered).
  • Experience with Automotive JIT and Union's is a plus.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Applications.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate material control systems, inbound/outbound shipments, and materials handling activities and inventory control primarily from the shop floor.
  • Coordinate all material handler activities.
  • Coordinate activities for warehouse layout.
  • Training, coaching, and developing the material handling team.
  • Implement and assist in development of cycle counting and pull system for each commodity.
  • Manage/coordinate the receiving and DMR processes.
  • Manage the input of incoming receipts on a regular timely basis.
  • Manage the process of outbound shipments.
  • Coordinate all customs compliance requirements.
  • Observe Materials/Production operation within their area of control to ascertain compliance with methods, quality standards, safety regulations, 5's and Production/Materials Standards.
  • Efficient operation of equipment: takes corrective action to eliminate any deviation.
  • Assist in maintaining and revising visual inventory benchmark standards.
  • Daily coordination of Production builds schedules.
  • 99% Daily floor walks.
  • Liaison between Materials and Production.
  • Coordinate any outside warehouse activities and monitor WMS.
  • Run RPS history reports and cumulative reports verifying receipts have been collected in RPS file.
  • Manage the process of supplier cum reconciliation.
  • Monitor system for accurately tracking Truckload Utilization (TUMS).
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality system.
  • Manage and maintain onsite replenishment of Trailers (Shelve).
  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process, and quality system.
  • Initiate, recommend, and provide solutions through designated channels.
  • Control further processing, delivery, or installation of non-conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
  • Actively participate in Health/Safety/Environmental investigations and the 8D process in order to develop root cause analysis for problem resolution as required.
  • Report accidents, occupational illnesses, and HSE&E emergencies, and inform supervisor of known HSE&E conditions which could adversely affect other team members, assets or to the public.
  • Ensures compliance with all safety procedures and ensures safe working procedures in assigned material areas.
