Job summary

Aptiv is seeking a Materials Supervisor in Haverhill, MA to lead the materials department, drive operational excellence, and ensure compliance with company policies. You will develop, implement and maintain material control systems, while overseeing shipping, receiving and inventory accuracy using Visual ERP.

The role requires independent judgment, urgency, and collaboration with planning, assembly, purchasing and stockroom teams to achieve on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 7 years of experience.
  • Experience with contract manufacturers, suppliers or distributors.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience leading a team and providing direction.

Compensation : $26.00 - $32.00 per hour

Summary:

Step into a key leadership role where you will drive the operational excellence of our materials department, ensuring compliance with company policies and contributing to corporate development efforts. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining critical material control systems, alongside managing all aspects of shipping, receiving, and accurate inventory control using the Visual ERP system. Success in this position relies on exhibiting strong professional behavior, including independent judgment and a sense of urgency. Collaborate cross-functionally with planning, assembly, purchasing, and stockroom teams to ensure on-time delivery and maximize overall performance output.

Leadership & Core Responsibilities:

  • Participates in corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects and programs
  • Manage all departmental functions such that goals and objectives are achieved
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, ensures they are communicated and implemented within the department
  • Develop, implement and maintain material control systems
  • Cultivate work habits that maximize performance output

  • Collaborate with planning and assembly teams to support on-time delivery (OTD) goals

Position Requirements:

  • Establish and maintain a neat and orderly work area
  • Develop a working knowledge of all product
  • Ensure orders are properly shipped using FedEx, DHL, and UPS software
  • Package and label orders accurately for shipment
  • Receive and process all orders in the Visual ERP system
  • Receive incoming items by accepting deliveries, unpacking shipments, recording identifying information, and entering transactions into the ERP system
  • Prepare shipments by assembling, packing, protecting, and labeling containers
  • Document shipped items by recording identifying and transportation information
  • Partner with the purchasing team to ensure timely processing of receipts and provide cross-functional support within the materials department as needed

Education & Technical Qualifications

  • Maintain inventory levels by assisting with weekly cycle counts and annual physical inventory
  • Maintain material quality and control by storing parts in appropriate locations and containers
  • Support Stockroom personnel with various functions such as releasing from inspection, kitting and marker printing

Certifications & Competencies:

  • Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 7 years experience
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers, suppliers or distributors
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Experience leading a team providing direction and guidance
