Job summary

Staffmark Group is hiring a Materials Supervisor in Edgerton, OH to oversee the materials lifecycle from raw material receipt to shipment. You will lead a team, coordinate scheduling, and manage supplier relations to ensure on-time delivery and material availability.

The role requires 5+ years in materials management with supervisory experience, plus knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, JIT, FIFO, and quality processes. Industrial/automotive background preferred; on-site work environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in materials management, supply chain, or related field with supervisory exposure.
  • Experience with raw material receiving, inventory control, scheduling, forecasting, procurement, and order management.
  • Knowledge of steel receiving operations, crane and forklift operation, vendor coordination, and truck scheduling preferred.
  • Understanding of quality systems, APQP, control plans, product launches, calibrations, and customer-facing quality support.
  • Experience with IATF and ISO standards, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Background in metal stamping, welding, automotive manufacturing, or industrial production environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Materials Manager in overseeing the complete materials lifecycle from raw material receiving to finished product shipment.
  • Coordinate production scheduling, inventory planning, forecasting, purchasing, and material availability for on-time delivery.
  • Manage supplier relationships, vendor communications, truck scheduling, and inventory replenishment activities.
  • Operate or oversee material handling activities, including crane and forklift operations.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and optimize material flow using ERP/MRP and lean principles.
  • Support quality management initiatives, audits, product launches, calibration programs, and customer requirements.
  • Lead and develop team members while driving operational performance and plant metrics.
  • Maintain process documentation and ensure compliance with quality standards; support continuous improvement.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience considered.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and business management software.
  • Working knowledge of MRP, ERP, JIT, and FIFO inventory systems.
  • Familiarity with automotive customer portals, web-based supply chain platforms, and manufacturing documentation processes.

Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in materials management, supply chain, production planning, manufacturing operations, or a related field.

  • Capable of working in both office and production floor environments while following all safety requirements.

Job Duties
