  • Previous forklift experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow instructions on work orders and requests.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations. (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, and to interact effectively with others.
  • Ability to organize time and workloads effectively, and to work independently.
  • Ability to train and direct the work of less experienced personnel.

Job Description
MISSION:

To coordinate and be responsible for the daily operations of a stores or receiving area; to oversee and take part in the receiving, inventory, shipping, issuing, warehousing receiving or purchasing of materials; to control all documentation and coordinate activities with purchasing, accounting and use departments; to coordinate the daily activities of other stores/receiving personnel.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Receiving
Objective:

to oversee and take part in the receipt, inspection and processing of maintenance and/or production materials.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Responsible for and takes part in the receiving of all stores materials and equipment. (TBO also)
  • Verifies order with receiving traveler or freight bills/packing slips and checks for damage; reconciles discrepancies or damaged goods with suppliers and purchasing. (TBO also)
  • Draws materials samples, completes paperwork and submits to lab for testing.
  • Coordinates the distribution of special order materials delivered against maintenance work order or production department requests.
  • Responsible for and performs the receiving data entry transactions which support purchasing, inventory and accountings systems.
Replenishment
Objective:

to initiate replenishment activity based on requirements generated through the inventory control process. This activity to be carried out under the direction and authority of the PCC Purchasing Department.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Review stock reorder cards based on daily reorder requirements.
  • Evaluate reorder quantities based on minimum/maximum values, vendor lead-time and/or other replenishment indicators.
  • Separate supply item replenishments from spares source procurement items.
  • Work with source procurement buyer in replenishing spare part items.
  • Identify supply item contractors; generates replenishment release orders as directed by source procurement buyer. (LSBO, TBO only)
  • Acts as expediting agent for supply item releases and spare part replenishments as directed by source procurement buyer.
  • Reconciles received supply items and reviewing monthly reports with storekeeper.
Inventory
Objective:

to oversee and take part in the inventorying and warehousing of materials and equipment.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Responsible for and performs the shelf stocking of inventory, disposition of obsolete inventory, and review of reorder point quantities.
  • Assures efficient warehousing of materials and equipment.
  • Responsible for and performs inventory data entry.
  • Completes inventory adjustment transactions as assigned by supervisor.
  • Conducts physical inventories.
  • Maintains storage records of parts and materials.
Issuing
Objective:

to oversee and perform the issuance of materials and equipment.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Assist customers in identification of material requirements and vendor sources.
  • Interprets blueprints for proper sourcing of specialized parts. (LSBO Central Stores only)
  • Receives requisitions from use departments; verifies availability, locates and dispenses materials to authorized users. (Central Stores locations only)
  • Records department account and/or maintenance work orders, and amounts issued in inventory control/accounting system.
Administrative
Objective:

to perform various administrative and coordinative functions in support of the stores functions.

Essential Job Functions:

Processes returned parts for rebuilding; coordinates the transportation of rebuildable units to outside suppliers.

  • Works with Accounting on inventory and computer issues. (Marginal job function at TBO)
  • Works with Purchasing regarding purchase orders and contracts; releases contract orders as appropriate.
  • Prepares parcels for shipment to suppliers. (Marginal job function at LSBO Central Stores)
  • Coordinates and dispatches company trucks for pickup and delivery. (Marginal job functions at Machining and TBO)
  • Trains and directs the work of less experienced personnel.
Safety
Objective:

to take responsibility for and demonstrate safe work practices.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Adheres to plant and department safety rules.
  • Safely operates all machines and equipment.
  • Identifies and reports safety problems.
  • May be required to work with hazardous waste.

Completes all logs and records.

Meets all quality standards.
