Job summary

Breeze Airways is seeking a Materials Specialist to maintain warehouse inventory, shipping, receiving, and transportation of materials. This role collaborates with the Maintenance Department to ensure adequate material supply for aircraft maintenance and organizational needs.

Responsibilities include overseeing material stores, data entry into TRAX, coordinating with Maintenance Operations Control (MOC) for AOG recovery, and performing audits to stay compliant with GMM and IATA DG rules.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Pass DG IATA and GMM training courses and maintain recurrent training.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SIDA badge per TSA requirements.
  • Must be fluent in English and authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily Material Stores and Line Material operations.
  • Enter data and manage issuing, receiving, and shipping of materials.
  • Coordinate with MOC for inventory movement and AOG recovery.
  • Perform inventory audits and ensure regulatory compliance.

Job description

Under the general direction of the Materials Manager, the Materials Specialist maintains the warehouse inventory, shipping, receiving, and transportation of materials. This person will be working with the Maintenance Department at the station to ensure adequate supply of material for aircraft maintenance and ensure material needs are met throughout the organization. Starting pay is $18.50 *$2.00 shift differential added when working from 9:00PM - 7:30AM

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for daily oversight of Material Stores and Line Material operations
  • Oversee and problem-solve issues associated with inventory accuracy, parts issuing, shipping, receiving, stocking, material handling, and equipment
  • Responsible for warehouse operations of Technical and Non-Technical inventory
  • Perform data entry into the company inventory system to include locating, issuing, receiving, shipping of materials, warehousing of supplies, tools, and materials
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Operations Control (MOC) for movement of inventory, tooling, and special equipment for Aircraft on Ground (AOG) recovery
  • Monitor and update stock items, minimum and maximum stock levels, and coordinate stock level adjustments with Maintenance, Purchasing, and/or other departments within the company
  • Perform inventory audits, inspections, inventory reconciliations, and maintain compliance with the General Maintenance Manual (GMM)
  • Work in conjunction with Maintenance and Quality departments to complete calibrated tooling, Shelf-Life audits, and replacements for monthly regulatory compliance
  • Perform periodic receiving inspection functions as assigned to by Quality Control
  • Prepare Hazmat material shipments in accordance with International Air Transport Association (IATA) regulations
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Maintenance Planning to prepare fleet modification kits
  • Other duties as assigned by the Materials Manager
  • Achieve performance measures and adhere to established standards in conjunction with Breeze Aviation Group Values of Safety, Kindness, Integrity, Ingenuity and Excellence
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational achievement
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License and a driving record that meets Breeze Airways standards
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SIDA badge in accordance with TSA requirements
  • Ability to drive company vehicles, trucks, forklifts, and other Ground Service Equipment (GSE)
  • Pass Materials and the General Maintenance Manual (GMM) training courses
  • Pass Dangerous Goods (DG) International Air Transport Association (IATA) course and maintain recurrent training
  • Pass Dangerous Goods (DG) ground shipping and maintain recurrent training
  • Pass a ten (10) year background check and criminal history records check (CHRC)
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Self-starter must have a positive attitude and strong desire for success
  • Must have authorization to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4-year degree in Business, Aerospace, or other relevant field
  • TRAX (M& E) Inventory system
  • Warehousing or experience in a stockroom environment
  • Strong technical and analytical background to provide TRAX, Excel, and other reports
  • Valid Passport with no restrictions to travel outside of the United States

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move medium to heavy weights of 50 pounds or more
  • Must be able to climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently in relatively confined spaces

Physical Demands & Working Conditions
  • Frequently lift, carry, and move parts and materials weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and climb for extended periods in a warehouse environment
  • Operate material-handling equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts, where applicable
  • Frequent use of hands and arms to handle, sort, and shelve inventory
  • Exposure to varying temperatures and elevated noise levels
