Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Manassas, VA, is seeking a Materials Specialist to support material handling across the site. The role focuses on coordinating deliveries, maintaining organized work areas, and communicating with buyers, planners, and supervisors.

• Maintain an organized work area, to improve efficiency, by keeping equipment inspected and process areas clean
• Coordinate and prioritize materials/deliveries based on customer needs
• Implement suggestions and ideas deemed necessary for continuous improvement
• Provide clear, concise, written, and verbal communication
• Participates in area meetings
• Communicates with Materials Operations’ leadership
• Provide accurate pass down of shift information
• Receive and transport materials to and from the appropriate delivery locations across the site
• Operate equipment (i.e. delivery vehicles, powered or manual pallet jacks)
• Use various business applications, including MS Office and

Materials Specialists perform all responsibilities of basic material handling. This includes, communicating with purchasing department buyers, planners, supervisors, and key customer contacts to resolve issues and complete tasks. Materials Specialists also coordinate team projects including quality teams and systems/procedures improvement teams; may participate in cross functional teams as departmental representative. They are expected to utilize Artificial Intelligence. They are also responsible for completion, documentation and recognition for area/shift projects.
