Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Materials Specialist in Jacksonville to manage inbound materials in Oracle, locate and pack items, and maintain accurate inventory records. The role requires forklift operation, safety compliance, and strong communication skills.

You will collaborate with production teams, track KPI metrics, and support cost estimates for prospective projects using RFQ specs. A CDL-A may be beneficial for site duties and logistics coordination.

Qualifications

  • 5 Years of railroad signaling experience, preferably related to materials management.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Good oral/written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow instructions that may entail several steps in a process.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Oracle database.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving material into Oracle daily.
  • Locating material and supplies by pulling and verifying and supplies listed on production orders.
  • Locating and packing materials for shipping.
  • Storing materials in appropriate areas.
  • Managing and cataloguing inventory with consistently updated records.
  • Operate machinery such as forklifts.
  • Track inventory levels and make recommendations for purchases when supply is low.
  • Comply with safety regulations.
  • Assist with reporting materials related to KPI’s.
  • Obtain quotes from vendors to use in materials estimates.
  • Assist with materials estimates for prospective projects based on RFQ specifications and bid typical plans.

Wabtec’s Digital Intelligence Signaling & Systems team is recognized as an industry leader in the successful delivery of complex integrated system projects, involving signaling, train control, communications, and back-office solutions with a strong focus on project execution, project management, schedule adherence and customer satisfaction.

How will you make a difference?

As a Wabtec Materials Specialist, you have the opportunity to make a difference in our customer’s experience. As a Materials Specialist you are responsible for

  • Receiving material into Oracle daily.

What about the physical demands of the job?

You will be working in the construction and wiring facility with limited climate control. You will be required to get First Aid and CPR Certified. You will be required to obtain a Forklift Operator Certified so you must possess a valid drivers’ license and possess or be capable of obtaining a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A).

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The hourly range for this role is between $20 - $25.

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
