Job summary

GE HealthCare USA is seeking a Materials Planner to own material ordering, availability, and scheduling, targeting 2‑week inventory levels. The role requires Oracle expertise and a focus on inventory accuracy.

You will collaborate with suppliers on packaging, min/max planning, and NPI phase-ins/phase-outs to minimize obsolete stock. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of material experience or production scheduling, plus strong problem-solving and interpersonal

• Computer proficiency required and bilingual ability.
• APICS Certification, Oracle knowledge, Six Sigma Green Belt, and working knowledge of MRP.

Responsibilities

• Own material ordering, availability, and scheduling targeting 2-week inventory levels.
• Resolve material issues and ensure systemic inventory accuracy.
• Conduct daily floor and receiving dock walks to investigate issues.
• Support supplier reviews, packaging needs, min/max planning, and NPI phase transitions.
• Investigate daily shortages and root causes; participate in cycle counts.
• Assist in lean initiatives and data-driven material issue predictions.

Job Description Summary

Ensure an uninterrupted supply of materials to support production and sales. Work to resolve Materials issues while achieving and maintaining inventory business metrics.

Job Description

Key responsibilities/essential functions include:

• Overall ownership of material ordering, availability, and scheduling targeting 2-week inventory levels, at a minimum
• Oracle expert
• Ensure systemic accuracy of inventory
• Rescheduling materials for pull ins (expedites) and push outs (for inventory control)
• Daily Shortage root cause investigation and resolution
• Partner closely with suppliers focusing on: Packaging needs, min/max planning. PCNs, as they relate to old/existing parts, materials replenishment planning, root-cause problem solving,
• Conduct daily walks on the floor and the receiving dock to investigate and resolve material issues
• Support material transfers, supplier reviews w/Sourcing
• Field Modification Instruction, as appropriate - ordering material, formulating schedules
• Supplier visits, as needed - internal and external
• Manage Phase In / Phase Out (NPI) to minimize obsolete material
• Provide supply analysis data and recommendations as necessary
• Assist in cycle count efforts as determined
• Support tool development for prediction of material issues
• Support all lean activities, initiatives, and action workouts

Quality Expectations

• Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
• Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required

Required Qualifications
