Job summary

MillenniumSoft Inc, located in Research Triangle Park, NC, is seeking a Materials Scientist with hands-on synthetic chemistry and materials experience for a 12+ month contract role. The team focuses on chemical and materials aspects of medical devices, including hydrogels, coatings, and viscoelastic systems.

The candidate will develop new formulations, test methods, and characterize materials using rheology, DSC, GPC, and spectroscopy, with in-vivo and in-vitro validation as applicable.

Qualifications

• Hands-on lab experience with chemicals, materials, and polymers.
• Experience developing formulations using soft materials.
• Experience operating characterization tools (rheometer, DSC, GPC, spectroscopy) and interpreting data.
• Ability to design, execute, and document experiments.
• Strong written and verbal technical communication.
• Ability to interpret and present scientific results.

Responsibilities

• Develop new chemical formulations (hydrogels, coatings, viscoelastic materials).
• Test methods for characterizing formulations.
• Modify materials and assess physico-chemical properties using analytical instrumentation.
• Collaborate and present experimental results to the team.
