Material Scientist / Chemist

Our corporate headquarters and laboratory facilities are based in Denver Metro, Colorado.

Summary:

This position requires a self-motivated, hands-on individual to assist with executing experiments for the company’s technology innovation, new product development, product quality assurance, and product improvement. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to learning, strong problem-solving skills, effective and clear communication, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of chemistry, materials science/engineering, and/or chemical engineering. The successful candidate will be dedicated to maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.

Essential Duties:

· Hands-on participation in running experiments.

· Prepares samples, collects data, and reports findings per appropriate techniques and standards.

· Responsible for cleaning and preventative maintenance of equipment within area of responsibility and troubleshooting of common operating issues.

· Evaluates items related to product quality and completes lab-based investigations and testing

· Helps design and execute experiments for technology and new product development.

· Assist with new technology and product evaluation

· Accurately uses computer system, department-specific software, and testing software in performance of job duties.

· Must be organized, detail oriented, and self-driven.

· Other duties as assigned by the Director of R&D with regular coordination with the Quality Department

Qualifications & Requirements:

· Degree in chemistry, materials science or engineering, or related physical science/engineering field. Relevant work experience will be considered. Preference for interdisciplinary background with knowledge of organic chemistry.

· Understanding of organic materials/chemistry/chemical engineering or ability and willingness to learn relevant subject matter.

· Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities with proven record of problem solving.

· experience: General understanding/interest in processing and manufacturing systems as applied to chemical and materials processing.

· Willingness to travel as needed. Less than 10% travel expected.

Additional Information:

Classification: Exempt / Salary, paid bi-weekly, benefits eligible.

Reports to: Director-R&D

Hiring Range: $68,000 - $77,000, commensurate with experience, skills, and education.

Location: Denver Metro, CO
