Job summary

Chart, Inc. in Beasley, TX is seeking a Materials Scheduler to build and manage production and shipment schedules. You will serve as primary liaison with Engineering, Sales, Production, Project Management and Shipping to align plans with capacity and materials availability.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years experience, a bachelor’s degree in business management, and advanced Excel skills. You will optimize labor utilization, maintain ERP-based forecasts, and communicate schedules to staff

Responsibilities

• Leverage the ERP system to maintain shop specific production schedules.
• Evaluate scheduling priorities for job orders including management of work orders & schedule alignment to available capacity.
• Resolve Supply, Demand, and Capacity issues while optimizing labor utilization.
• Execute efficient schedules to drive the highest possible OTD.
• Respond to requests from internal customers in a timely and professional manner.
• Perform all shop specific capacity planning activities and coordinate output with production team.
• Use JDE to align production schedules; coordinate availability of raw materials, supplies, equipment, and workers as needed to meet delivery dates.
• Evaluate current procedures and recommend changes to improve the efficiency of planning and scheduling of projects.
• Ensure all Work Orders and projects are properly documented and closed in scheduling systems.
• Assess and implement ERP techniques needed to plan, schedule, control, measure, and evaluate the effectiveness of production operations.
• Maintain all project forecasts into ERP platform.
• Address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
• Communicate production schedule to staff members promptly.
• Manage load leveling and bottleneck scheduling.
• Generate and maintain workorders in alignment with the production plans.
• Identify manufacturing variances weekly and reports them to Operations team.
• Responsible for ensuring accuracy of standard labor hours.
• Responsible for comparing standard cost to actual cost and identifying and explaining manufacturing variances.
• Responsible for maintaining work areas and performing job functions safely and efficiently by company policies and procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Develop continuous improvement opportunities relative to position and participates in execution.
• Conduct monthly forecast maintenance.
• Performs other duties as required and/or assigned.

The Materials Scheduler is responsible for creating and managing all production and shipment schedules. This role assembles the master schedule based upon the business, shipment, inventory, and production plans and serves as a primary point of contact for and liaison with Engineering, Sales, Production, Project Management and Shipping departments.
