Job summary

Western Rock Products seeks a skilled Materials Tester to safely collect samples of soils, aggregates, and asphalt materials, operate density gauges, and report results accurately. You will help ensure compliance with testing protocols and maintain a clean lab environment.

The role requires familiarity with lab procedures, ability to drive a company vehicle, and adherence to MSHA & OSHA safety standards. Prior QC experience is valued, with room to grow within a CRH company.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to collect samples accurately and document results.
• Must be able to operate density gauges and report test outcomes promptly.
• Knowledge of state DOT specifications or equivalent governing agency standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely collect soil, aggregate, and asphalt samples.
• Set up and maintain nuclear density gauges for compaction tests.
• Report test results accurately and promptly to lab supervisor.
• Maintain lab cleanliness and comply with MSHA & OSHA regulations.
• Drive company vehicle as required.
• Assist with asphalt coring and density investigations as needed.
