Job Title: Materials & Process Engineering - Tech Spec III (Sealants, Adhesives, Coatings)

Education
BS in Aerospace, Mechanical, Civil, Materials Science, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree. Advanced degree(s) in a related field preferred, but not required.
Qualifications
- Self‑motivated individual with strong background in aerospace manufacturing or related field, specialization in sealants, adhesives, polymers, coatings, and metal/composite‑bonding of aircraft structures.
- Extensive experience with aerospace sealants, adhesives, polymers, coatings systems and related discrepancies (MRB).
- Deep knowledge of epoxy chemistry, polymer science, surface preparation techniques, and non‑destructive inspection of bonded joints.
- Experience evaluating, testing, and selecting sealants for environmental, aerodynamic, and fuel sealing applications. Involvement with SAE (G‑9, G‑8 Qualified Products Group) is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate with manufacturers/suppliers to achieve program and company goals.
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis (field and production) of aerospace sealants, adhesives, polymers, coatings systems, especially bonding and coating failures.
- Familiarity with FAA/EASA certification requirements and environmental regulations (REACH/RoHS/OSHA). Proven knowledge of working with MIL‑STD, AMS, ASTM, CMH‑17 industry standards.
- Aptitude for continuous improvement initiatives related to the manufacturing and assembly of metallic, non‑metallic, and composite aircraft structure.
- Positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Author test plans and test reports.
- Revise M&P documentation (GAMPS, GMS/AML, GA Standards, etc.).
- Interrogate 3D‑based designs for M&P requirements.
- Review M&P supplier specifications.
- Project management (planning, initiation through execution/closure).
- Strong mentorship for developing junior and mid‑level engineering talent.
- Lead engineering projects of major complexity within established scope.
- Make technical decisions and recommendations that are authoritative and impact extensive engineering activities.
- Develop innovative principles and ideas, applying advanced technical principles and theories.
- Determine improved methods and procedures to optimize technical product, cost, and schedule requirements.
- Work under consultative direction using independent judgment to accomplish objectives.
- Develop standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.
- Conceive and plan investigations of broad areas of importance lacking precedents for critical programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
