Job summary

Our client in Rochester, NH seeks a Materials & Process Development Team Lead to lead a team focused on fiber reinforced composites, drive process improvements, and support new product introductions on-site. The role requires 7+ years in composite engineering, a Mechanical/Civil degree, CAD proficiency, and experience with aerospace materials, injection and infusion methods, plus project management.

You will coordinate testing, manage tooling procurement, and collaborate across engineering teams

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in composite engineering or related field; advanced degrees can substitute for experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering; advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes for polymer matrix composites.
  • Experience with aerospace materials and structures, especially injection and infusion methods.
  • CAD software proficiency (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX) and project management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers responsible for planning, organizing, and executing internal and customer-funded research and technology projects focused on fiber reinforced composites.
  • Oversee the development and improvement of composite manufacturing processes, including injection, infusion, and CMC processing techniques.
  • Support the introduction of new composite products, processes, and technologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
  • Manage procurement of tooling and equipment necessary for advanced composite manufacturing.
  • Coordinate material characterization activities through fabrication and testing of composite elements and sub-components.

As a Materials & Process Development Team Lead, you will be part of the Research and Technology department supporting engineering teams.
