Job summary

Morgan Olson LLC in Sturgis, MI is seeking a Group Leader - Materials to oversee all phases of line production. You will direct and train operators, ensure safety and 5S standards, and coordinate with the Materials Supervisor to keep production on schedule.

The role requires lean manufacturing knowledge, strong leadership, and the ability to document production reports and feedback. Equal emphasis on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 1–2 years managing production processes.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal skills, and ability to multi-task.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and team concepts.
• Good problem solving and trouble-shooting skills; computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Plan work schedules for a day or week and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Direct and collaborate with line or cell team members.
• Instruct and train team members in SOPs.
• Observe machinery to detect malfunctions and report to maintenance for repair.
• Promote 5S compliance; keep areas clean, orderly, and labeled.
• Document employee reports and prepare required paperwork.
• Complete production reports and provide performance feedback.
• Support PPS team efforts and uphold Quality and Safety policies.
