Job summary

Lunar Energy, Inc. in Mountain View, CA, seeks a Materials Planning Lead to drive end-to-end material readiness from prototypes through mass production, coordinating with hardware engineering, contract manufacturers, and supply chain analytics.

You will model demand, manage consigned materials, optimize buffers, and own real-time dashboards for clear-to-build status, lead times, and inventory turns, while ensuring on-time builds and minimizing E&O exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field or related discipline.
• 5+ years in materials planning, NPI supply chain, or hardware manufacturing operations.
• Experience with managing consigned materials, inventory reconciliation, and liabilities.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/NetSuite) and BI tools (PowerBI/Tableau/Looker); advanced Excel and data modelling.

Responsibilities

• Direct material requirements planning and kitting for engineering prototypes across Proto, EVT, DVT, and PVT builds.
• Track material clear-to-build status across tier-1 and tier-2 contract manufacturers and manage consigned pipelines.
• Collaborate with hardware engineering to assess design changes and manage revision roll-overs to avoid scrap.
• Model demand scenarios with ±30% swings to size material buffers.
• Monitor yield and scrap; adjust reorder points to align with objectives.
• Build and maintain real-time dashboards showing clear-to-build status, shortages, lead times and inventory turns.
• Lead weekly material review boards; flag shortages early with clear options and hold suppliers accountable.
