Job summary

Sika, a global specialty chemicals leader, is seeking a Materials Manager for the Marion, Ohio production facility. You will plan material supplies, establish production schedules, and supervise production planners to ensure on-time shipping and optimal inventory levels.

Responsibilities include leading site safety initiatives, coordinating with purchasing and logistics, and driving cost-efficient material flow while aligning with budgets and forecasts.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Business Management or related field.
• 5+ years experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution center environment.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in the Sika SAFE Program.
• Member of Site Leadership Team.
• Maintain safe and clean work environment.
• Lead in advancing the Sika SAFE culture in Marion.
• Strategic planning with managers for forecasting of planning and scheduling based on trends.
• Oversee production planners and scheduling priorities.
• Oversee purchasing to ensure supplies and inventory targets.
• Coordinate with Receiving and Plant Logistics for material flow and inventory control.
• Troubleshoot across manufacturing, QC, purchasing and logistics to expedite material flow.
• Ensure on-time shipping with optimal inventory investment; perform physical inventories.
• Develop action plans to minimize obsolete material.
• Oversee workflow for plant material movement.
• Perform other work as required by Director, Operations.
