Job summary

The Structures Company is seeking a Materials Planner in Denton, TX for a contract role. You will examine drawings, calculate material quantities, and build BOMs in the MRP system to support procurement and production plans.

You will ensure data integrity, monitor material deliveries against schedules, and coordinate with Procurement to optimize cost and reduce waste. A US Person is required for ITAR compliance, with a relevant degree and 2–5 years' experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2-5 years of experience in materials planning, production planning, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in aerospace or aircraft interiors preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and materials specifications.
• In-depth knowledge of MRP systems and logic.
• Familiarity with procurement of raw materials, standards, parts, and commodities.

Responsibilities

• Examine engineering drawings for inaccuracies in material or component specifications.
• Review and evaluate engineering drawings to calculate quantities and types of material required.
• Build BOMs in MRP system and determine make vs buy sub-assemblies.
• Ensure data integrity within MRP to support accurate planning, procurement, and production execution.
• Calculate material requirements based on production schedules, lead times, and demand forecasts.
• Generate and manage purchase requisitions in alignment with production needs.
• Monitor and track material deliveries to ensure alignment with aircraft modification schedules.
• Coordinate with Procurement and Stores to maintain adequate levels of parts and raw materials.
• Analyze material costs and identify opportunities to optimize value and reduce waste.
• Drive improvements in planning processes, material flow, and system utilization.

Summary

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2-5 years of experience in materials planning, production planning, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in aerospace or aircraft interiors preferred.
• Demonstrated advanced expertise with database software, Internet software, MRP software, Inventory and order processing systems, Project Management software, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and materials specifications.
• In-depth knowledge of MRP systems and logic.
• Familiarity with manufacturing flows and production planning.
• Familiarity with procurement of raw materials, standards, parts, and commodities.
