Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in materials planning, purchasing, inventory control, or supply chain operations within manufacturing or distribution environments.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with inventory analysis, forecasting, and demand planning.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP/MRP systems (MAPICS); ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Good communication and cross-functional collaboration skills; knowledge of ISO standards in regulated manufacturing environments preferred.

All about the role:

The Materials Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating material supply to meet customer service and production requirements. The Material Planner is the first point of contact for all external suppliers regarding shipments of materials into the factory. This role uses key data to ensure the timely availability of materials, optimize inventory levels, and drives supply chain efficiency through collaboration with cross-functional teams including Purchasing, Engineering, Logistics, and Operations.

What you'll do:

• Plan and manage material requirements to support customer demand, ensure supply continuity, and mitigate supply risks through alternate sourcing and substitution strategies.
• Analyze forecasts, demand signals, backorders, and inventory trends to optimize material availability, inventory levels, and service performance.
• Create, maintain, and expedite purchase orders while partnering with suppliers and purchasing to ensure on-time delivery and resolve supply issues.
• Coordinate globally sourced inbound shipments, dock scheduling, interfacility transfers, and transportation plans to support operational efficiency.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Purchasing, Logistics, NPI, and Service teams on part substitutions, phase-in/phase-out activities, and long-term supply planning.
• Prioritize and schedule orders based on business needs, monitor shipment progress, and ensure accurate, on-time order fulfillment.
• Utilize ERP/MRP systems (SAP, MAPICS) to manage planning activities, maintain data integrity, generate KPI reports, and provide supplier performance scorecards.
• Drive continuous improvement, inventory accuracy, compliance, and quality initiatives while supporting audits and adherence to ISO standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business or a related field, preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in materials planning, purchasing, inventory control, or supply chain operations within manufacturing or distribution environments.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, including experience with inventory analysis, forecasting, demand planning, and processing numerical data accurately.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Office applications, and ERP/MRP systems (such as MAPICS), with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with knowledge of ISO standards and regulated manufacturing environments (ISO 9001/14001/50001, EMS, Green Spirit) preferred.
