Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation seeks a Materials Physicist – Non-Destructive Evaluation to advance NDI for launch vehicle and spacecraft components. You will serve as a trusted technical advisor, analyze inspection data, and communicate complex results to stakeholders to ensure mission assurance.

Responsibilities include developing NDI methods (RT/UT/ET/IRT), conducting materials characterization research, and leading cross-functional teams in testing and reviews at our El Segundo facility.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in a relevant engineering or science field.
• 3+ years leading engineering or scientific tasks post-degree.
• Strong foundation in aerospace materials, NDI principles, and physics.

Responsibilities

• Advise programs with inspection data reviews and risk assessments.
• Present findings to engineers, managers, and leadership.
• Develop and validate advanced NDI techniques for space hardware.
• Lead lab testing, investigations, and peer reviews to ensure integrity.
• Perform hands-on inspection of flight hardware and field evaluations.
• Collaborate across teams to support mission success.
