Job summary

Blue Bird Corporation in Fort Valley, GA is seeking a Materials Supervisor to oversee daily materials operations, procurement, storage, and distribution, coordinating with purchasing, production, and quality control to maintain material flow, accuracy, and cost control.

You will lead a team of materials handlers, implement inventory management processes, enforce safety protocols, and prepare reports on status and department performance for senior management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 years’ supervisory experience in an operational setting.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the materials team, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels with timely replenishment.
• Collaborate with purchasing, production, and quality control to ensure material availability and resolve discrepancies.
• Implement and maintain inventory management systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Conduct regular audits of inventory and enforce safety protocols.
• Analyze material usage trends to identify cost reduction opportunities.
• Prepare reports on material status and department performance for senior management.
