Job summary

McCormick & Company, Incorporated, the Zatarain’s facility in Gretna, LA, seeks a Materials Manager to lead production planning, inventory control and replenishment activities. You will work with Customer Service, Logistics, Production, Sales, R&D and QA to align demand with supply and drive improvements across the plant.

The role requires a strong track record in leadership, strategic planning and cross-functional teamwork within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • BSc in Supply Chain/Logistics/Purchasing.
  • Minimum of 7–10 years functional/leadership experience.
  • Strong leadership with success in managing multiple projects and people.

Responsibilities

  • Forecast, plan and replenish McCormick products for customers with the management team.
  • Coordinate with Customer Service, Logistics, Production, Sales, R&D and QA to provide effective service.
  • Balance inventory, service and cost objectives and drive supply chain improvements.
  • Manage replenishment activities and ensure demand is met with internal/external departments.
  • Oversee purchasing, production scheduling and control, inventory, warehousing, and shipping.

Responsibilities

U nder the general direction of the Plant Manager, provides strategic leadership for a function within a high performance plant/facility. Has overall accountability for the performance of the function and the impact on the larger operating unit. Leads team managers and/or staff to achieve exceptional business results through the development of people and continuous improvement of manufacturing and supply chain processes. Participates as an active member of the facility leadership team and ensures that strategies across functions are aligned to create common objectives for all departments and achieve plant/facility goals. Manage and develop direct reports. Responsibilities of this position include:



  • Collaborating with the Management team to plan, forecast and replenish McCormick products for customers.

  • Will work in concert with Customer Service, Logistics, Production Locations, Sales, R&D and QA to provide effective and efficient service to customers.

  • Will also balance inventory, service and cost objectives, drive collaborative supply chain improvements and support Customer Service.

  • Responsible for all replenishment activities and working with internal and external departments to meet customer demand.

  • Manage the overall control and movement of materials in and out of the plant location.

  • Directs and administers some or all of the following: purchasing, production scheduling and control, inventory and warehouse stock control, warehousing, sales order entry, customer service, traffic and shipping


As a member of the Plant Leadership Team, requires comprehensive understanding of the concepts and principles within their own functional area and also requires basic knowledge of these elements in other relevant functional areas in order to participate in the resolution of issues that have an impact beyond the area or impact multiple areas.



  • Manages Production Planning and Scheduling to ensure the smoothest production curve, while maintaining a high customer service level.

  • Responsible for short-range and long range production and material planning

  • Responsible for the overall control of inventory levels to maintain pre-determined management goals and objectives.

  • In partnership with Production and Quality, facilitates the resolution of material issues. Additionally, coordinates Plant with HQ S&OP functions to assure highest levels of customer service, while balancing cost of inventory and line efficiency.

  • Utilizes the HPWS Systems (Goal Setting, Performance Management, Problem Solving & Decision Making, Training & Development, Information Systems, Rewards & Recognitions) to empower and develop teams using established HPWS systems, core beliefs, guiding principles and attributes.


Qualifications


  • BSc in Supply Chain/Logistics/Purchasing

  • Minimum of 7-10 years functional/leadership experience.

  • Strong leadership experience with demonstrated success in managing multiple projects and people
