Job summary

McCormick & Company, Incorporated's Zatarain's facility in Gretna, Louisiana is seeking a 3rd Shift Pre-Weigh Technician to join a fast-paced production team. You will coordinate between scheduling and warehouse, inspect materials, and report data in SAP to ensure accurate weight and quality.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate between scheduling and warehouse team daily concerning any raw material variances.
• Return remaining raw materials after Preweigh processes complete according to warehouse specifications.
• Follow all instructions on production cards and daily schedule.
• Keep accurate production records and accurate reporting in SAP and report information daily.
• Inspect raw materials, in-process, and finished goods for proper weight, color, overall appearance, texture, labeling, packaging, and correct/report defects.
• Coordinate with supervisors daily concerning any scheduling variances and process improvements.
• Perform proper sanitation, housekeeping, and safety procedures.
• Help maintain equipment, reporting, and/or resolving any breakdowns or problems.
• Participate in all team/department meetings.
• Actively participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to work in a dusty environment with strong odors and high noise/decibel levels
• Ability to work in environment with potential exposure to chemicals and cleaning agents
• Ability to work overtime on short notice and weekends
• Ability to work in a team environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED
• Proven mechanical ability
• Preweigh experience
• SAP experience
