Job summary

Big Tex Trailer Manufacturing in Wills Point, TX seeks a Materials Manager to lead purchasing, receipt, control and storage of raw and finished materials across a multi-site territory in Texas and Oklahoma. This role drives the materials management strategy, overseeing MRP, purchase orders, receiving, and inventory control to support scalable operations.

You will manage supplier relations, cycle counting, and collaborate with finance on inventory governance and ERP roadmap implementation,

Qualifications

• BS in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field required.
• 5+ years of Manufacturing or Supply Chain experience.
• Kanban and MRP experience required.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Work with cross functional leaders to implement an industry leading materials management system.
• Utilize a combination of Lean methods including visual management, pull Kanban signals, MRP, and sequencing.
• Build and lead a team focused on tactical and strategic purchasing to optimize inventory and total cost of materials.
• Contribute to creating the ERP MS Dynamics roadmap and support its implementation.
• Collaborate with the finance team to create and monitor a cycle count program.
• Verify quantity of delivered material matches packing slips and address discrepancies before shipment.
• Maintain accurate on hand inventory through cycle counts.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Production, and Scheduling to address material shortages.
• Optimize raw material storage within production facilities.
