Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Supply Chain, Civil Engineering, Logistics or Business Administration.
• Proven experience in materials management or supply chain roles in construction/civil engineering.
• Willingness to travel frequently to supplier locations and project sites.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
• Strong analytical and data-analysis abilities focused on materials.
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills for collaboration with project teams and suppliers.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage complex datasets.

Responsibilities

• Strategic management: develop and implement materials management strategies for civil engineering projects, focusing on procurement and inventory control.
• Collaboration: work with project managers and engineering teams to forecast material requirements and ensure timely delivery.
• Supplier engagement: identify, negotiate, and maintain supplier relationships with frequent travel.
• Inventory optimization: monitor inventory levels and implement systems to prevent stockouts and overstock.
• Performance monitoring: evaluate supplier performance and take corrective actions as needed.
• Cost savings initiatives: lead efforts to reduce material costs through sourcing and process improvements.
• Regulatory compliance: ensure safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in materials management.
• Reporting and analysis: prepare performance reports on material usage and supplier metrics.
