Job summary

DSJ Global is partnering with a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer in Northern New Jersey to recruit a Materials Manager who will oversee planning and procurement operations and lead a team through a major ERP transformation. This is a newly created, onsite role with significant leadership responsibilities.

The position requires US Citizenship, aerospace/defense industry experience, and a track record of managing planning and purchasing functions within manufacturing.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required
• Aerospace or Defense industry experience required
• Experience leading both planning and purchasing functions within a manufacturing environment
• Prior experience managing buyers, planners, or materials teams
• Strong experience with ERP/MRP systems and materials planning processes

Responsibilities

• Lead all materials management activities including planning, purchasing, forecasting, scheduling, and inventory control
• Manage and develop a team of 4 direct reports
• Drive demand planning, forecasting, and master scheduling processes
• Develop and execute inventory strategies to support customer demand and manufacturing operations
• Manage material flow across a complex aerospace and defense manufacturing environment
• Oversee ERP/MRP execution, data integrity, and planning accuracy
• Play a key leadership role in a major ERP upgrade and optimization initiative
• Manage and maintain multi-level Bills of Material (BOMs)
• Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain leadership
• Monitor supplier performance, inventory levels, purchasing effectiveness, and planning metrics
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, inventory optimization, and operational efficiency
• Drive material availability while balancing inventory investment and production requirements
