Job summary

Sterling Engineering in Sidney, NE seeks an Inventory Manager to ensure inventory accuracy, run cycle counts, and ensure supplier and customer compliance with contract and material requirements. The role involves planning and ordering materials to support production and reviewing inventory levels to create purchase orders as needed.

You will communicate with customers, oversee monthly cycle counts, analyze demand reports for forecasts, and collaborate with Engineering on packaging improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
  • Two or more years of inventory control, inventory management, or related experience
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience with forecasting, inventory planning, and budgeting
  • Manufacturing experience required
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience using SAP or a similar ERP system
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

  • Plan and order materials to support production across assigned locations and inventory cribs
  • Review inventory levels and planned demand to create purchase orders as needed
  • Communicate regularly with customers to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time
  • Oversee the inventory cycle count program, including coordinating monthly counts and reviewing results
  • Analyze inventory and demand reports to support 12-month production forecasts and ensure system accuracy
  • Partner with Engineering on packaging improvements, drawings, and other project initiatives
  • Provide backup support for indirect purchasing, including shop floor supply orders
  • Supervise, coach, and evaluate team members
  • Assist with and participate in physical inventory activities

Job description

Hours: Mon-Fri, 5am-5pm and Saturdays, 5am-1pm
