Job summary

Nemours is seeking a Materials Management TECH (Full-Time) to join our Nemours Children’s Hospital team in Wilmington, DE. The role requires working rotational shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and 12-hour day or night shifts to ensure timely distribution of medical supplies.

Responsibilities include receiving, inspecting, warehousing, transporting, and replenishing materials, processing receipts, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare documents and maintain accountable records for supplies.

Job description

Nemours is seeking a Materials Management TECH (Full-Time), to join our Nemours Children’s Hospital team in Wilmington, DE.

Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule is required, as this position requires working rotational shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and 12-hour day and night shifts. Scheduled shifts may include:

  • 5:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
  • 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
  • 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
  • Rotating weekend shift: 4:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  • Rotating 12-hour day shift: 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Receives, inspects, warehouses, stores, transports / delivers, issues, safeguards, accounts for, and replenishes medical material supplies and equipment at required locations in a timely fashion. Processes receipts for incoming supplies, ensures quality and quantity of materials match supporting documentation, and notes discrepancies. Performs required computer operations functions and operates material handling equipment. Applies special handling procedures for storing hazardous material, utilizes personal protection equipment as required, performs inventories and quality assurance inspections. Prepares and processes documents and transactions required, monitors requests, implements materials activities for inventory control, accounting, and management of supplies and equipment.

  • Responsible for the timely distribution/replenishment of all medical supplies and equipment.
  • Ensures all clinical equipment with an electrical component is delivered to Clinical Engineering for testing/inspection prior to delivery.
  • Performs rounding of all patient care areas / nodes to identify required materials management support.
  • Inspects all materials for possible damage, defect, or expiration and immediately reports / communicates findings and ensures discrepancies are annotated for record.
  • Identifies, processes, and tags all Capital items received in accordance with the Foundation Capital Policy.
  • Maintains appropriate communication with Managers/Associates as needed to facilitate the flow of items.
  • Responsible for regular communication with department managers to ensure that we have the most current associate listings.
  • Implements materials activities for supply/equipment inventory distribution and control; Ensures necessary corrective actions and documentation is taken.
  • Performs, organizes, and monitors medical materials management functions.
  • Prepares and validates computer input data to establish, revise, and maintain accountable records.
  • Follows all departmental SOPs as related to job functions.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum of three (3) to six (6) month’s supply/distribution experience preferred.Materials management experience preferred.
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule as shifts are rotational required
  • Shifts: 5am-1:30pm , 6:30am—3pm, 7am-3:30pm, Weekends 4am-12:30pm rotating, 12hr shifts 7am-7pm – 7pm-7am rotating
