Education

Required – High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Experience

• 5 years of experience in an inventory management or customer focused role in healthcare materials management.
• 3 years of experience in an inventory management or customer focused role in healthcare materials management with a bachelor's degree.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

• Knowledge of operating room supplies/medical products and computerized inventory systems.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage a pre-programmed database.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to be self‑directed and manage major projects with limited supervision.

Job Duties

• Develops and maintains an effective supply management system.
• Provides effective management of processes for OR supply, inventory control and receiving.
• Ensures proper implementation and maintenance of the Lawson Supply Management System as it pertains to the OR.
• Ensures proper maintenance of the supply database and preference cards within SIS.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Physical and Environmental Demands

Sedentary Work – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, with brief walking or standing as needed.

Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid, or tissue, and incumbents are not called upon to perform or assist in emergency care or first aid.

The incumbent has no occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.

Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
