Description


The Materials Management Clerk II is responsible for providing materials management services to the ASC, Endoscopy and Pain Management areas and staff. This includes activities associated with inventory supply management, distribution and receiving functions.




Job Relationships


Reports directly to the Supply Chain Supervisor and/or Manager


Principal Responsibilities



  • Verify receipts, note damages, discrepancies, contacts vendors, and completes appropriate documentation.

  • Inventories, receives, stores, and delivers supplies to clinical and non-clinical departments/areas within the ASC.

  • Monitors surgery schedule to help determine supplies needed for surgical cases.

  • Performs counts of par level locations via hand held technology and researches discrepancies.

  • Order and scan supplies to various departments / areas using correct charge methods.

  • Assist in completing month end loss report for expired/wasted items and return to vendor items.

  • Maintains ASC inventory and storeroom work areas in a clean and orderly manner per regulatory guidelines.

  • Communicate with internal and external departments. including requesting items from hospital partners and vendor representative

  • Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.

  • Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training as required per policy.

  • Provide excellent customer service and adhere to Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards.

  • Performs cycle counts on perpetual inventories within Company's Systems to ensure accuracy

  • Perform other job duties as assigned.


Education/Experience



  • High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of medical products/terminology preferred.


Licenses/Certificates



  • Must maintain valid Illinois driver's license


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Competent in Microsoft office suite, Outlook, and basic computer operations (SIS, Oracle preferred).

  • Demonstrate problem solving skills and sound judgement.

  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner both verbally and written with all levels of internal and external customers.

  • Knowledge of requisitioning procedures, receiving documentation procedures, use of equipment, location of inventory items and Doctor specialty supplies/preference cards as obtained through on-the-job training.

  • Knowledge or experience with a computerized inventory and receiving system.

  • Ability to adapt to changing levels of work with varying levels of supervision.

  • Must be a self-starter who is willing to investigate and solve problems including independent decision making.


Working Environment



  • Lifting, bending and stretching are required. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

  • Manual dexterity is required for use of calculator, handheld scanner, and computer keyboard.

  • Dress attire includes scrubs and PPE including shoe covers, bouffant caps, and masks for sterile areas.

  • Requires sitting and standing/walking for periods of time, working in a store room environment, and distributing supplies throughout the ASC areas.

  • Office work including data entry, sorting/ filing paperwork, and use of telephone required.

  • Working under stress with varying levels of work load.
