Job summary

University of Utah Health seeks a Storeroom/Materials Handler to support the procurement, receipt, storage and distribution of supplies across hospitals and clinics. The role requires attention to detail, basic computer literacy, and the ability to handle routine and STAT deliveries.

Preferred candidates have six months of shipping/receiving or stock room experience and may hold a medical terminology course. Valid Utah driver’s license is a plus; healthcare environment experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of customer service, shipping and receiving or stock room experience, or the equivalency.

Responsibilities

• Respond to product recall notices.
• Order, receive and track materials and supplies.
• Use department system to verify transactions.
• Maintain stock receipt records for departments.
• Inspect received stock against specs; ensure complete orders.
• Resolve order issues with vendors/departments.
• Store items by style, size, material per procedures.
• Rotate stock to prevent expiry.
• Deliver goods to departments on routine or STAT basis.
• Keep storeroom clean and orderly.
• Perform clerical duties: data entry, requisitions, phones.
• Answer staff questions to ensure service quality.
• Document patient charges for equipment use.
• Clean and sanitize patient-use equipment.
• Maintain ATP infection-control scores.
• Ensure safety inspections and calibrations are completed timely.
• Deliver clean linen to hospital/clinic locations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• May oversee delivery/distribution of goods per requisitions.
• May handle packaging and shipping.
• May advise on storeroom layout.
• May assist in counting/sorting/folding linen.
