Job summary

Springs Window Fashions is hiring for the Mecho division as a Materials Manager in Edison, NJ. This onsite role focuses on delivering best practices in materials management, optimizing inventory, and leading planning, receiving, and distribution operations across a multi-plant network.

You will drive continuous improvement, mentor planners/buyers, and ensure high levels of customer service while maintaining policy compliance and efficient workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience within supply chain functions in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 2 years of people management experience, including planning, receiving, material handling, and inventory control.
• Demonstrated leadership capability in a fast-paced, customer-centric manufacturing operation.
• Experience supporting PFEP concepts and material replenishment systems (Kanban or pull).
• Strong proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and MS Office; data analysis and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Responsibilities

• Direct Material Buyer/Planners’ activities to enable plant operation while optimizing inventory, priorities, and freight expense.
• Improve system utilization and reporting tools to enable efficient planning and scheduling buying processes.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, internal customers, and external suppliers.
• Control inventory levels at SKU and aggregate levels; develop strategies to improve turns and PFEP alignment.
• Manage supplier performance in reporting tools and drive procurement improvements.
• Monitor and mitigate material shortages; maintain 95% on-time shipment service where applicable.
• Work with Procurement to reduce lead times, minimums, and price breaks; forecast major suppliers.
• Ensure timely creation of work and purchase orders; maintain accuracy of planning parameters.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and succession planning for Planner/Buyers.
• Support continuous improvement and special projects as needed.
