Job summary

Washington Penn is seeking a Laboratory Testing Technician to perform final and in-process testing of materials in a 24/7 laboratory operation, ensuring compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.

Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, recording results in the PRIMOS database, reviewing data, and collaborating with lab staff to ensure timely reporting and accurate test results. The role involves rotating 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• A technical 2-year or 4-year degree is preferred.
• Training in the operation and theory of testing equipment and laboratory techniques is preferred.
• Proficient with basic computer software, including word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, and statistics programs.

Responsibilities

• Performs final testing on molded specimens for quality control and R&D.
• Performs in-process testing on materials in the Mechanical Testing Laboratory.
• Assists in maintenance and calibration of all equipment in the department.
• Reviews Raw Material and Final Test Results and determines if additional testing is required.
• Records results in PRIMOS and documents results on the appropriate forms; reports to Laboratory Technical Manager as needed.
• Reports in-process test results in PRIMOS and notifies manufacturing if out of specification.
• Reviews procedures to comply with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
• Works with other lab technicians to ensure timely reporting of all results.
• Participates in Measurement System Analysis Studies (Gage R&R).
• Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.
