Job summary

Rimkus Consulting Group seeks an entry-level Materials Laboratory Technician for its Mooresville, NC facility. You will perform laboratory testing, assist project managers, and coordinate specimen storage. The role requires strong communication and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

The position offers a path for growth within a range of forensic, failure analysis, and materials testing projects across diverse industries, with opportunities for training and advancement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and diplomacy.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Good organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to multitask and set priorities.
• Must have dependable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing on a wide variety of projects and assist with project management tasks.
• Occasionally interact with clients during testing.
• Coordinate storage and documentation of project items at the facility.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment under supervision.
• Prepare metallographic specimens and perform microstructural analyses.
• Produce standard test reports and maintain QA procedures.
