Job summary

Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies in LaGrange, GA is seeking a Materials Lab Technician for the 2nd shift to perform testing of O-rings and related materials, and to review lab procedures. This on-site role supports quality control and process development within a networked, global technology group.

The position requires attention to detail, teamwork, and proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint, plus the ability to lift up to 25 kg and operate with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must be computer literate in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Must be organized with good oral and written skills.
• Basic math, calculation and problem solving skills.
• Detail oriented, team player and able to work without supervision.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing of O-Rings and assesses according to standards.
• Performs quality inspection and testing on incoming materials.
• Reviews and edits procedures, work instructions and forms.
• Prepares unmolded rubber for lab molding and test specimens.
• Molds and prepares test specimens for testing.
• Performs standard material testing and verifies calibration.
• Orders supplies and equipment for laboratory work.
• Handles other duties as assigned by Sr. Chemist / Manager.

Materials Lab Technician - 2nd Shift

Responsibilities

• Performs testing of Production and Import O-Rings and assesses them according to standards
• Performs quality inspection and testing on incoming raw materials and assesses them according to standards
• Review and edit procedures, work instruction, and forms
• Mixes Lab Batches and prepares unmolded rubber for lab molding
• Molds and prepares test specimens for testing
• Performs all standard material testing
• Verification of calibration of testing equipment
• Ordering of supplies and equipment for laboratory work
• Completes other duties assigned by the Sr. Chemist / Materials Development Manager

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED
• Must be computer literate in Excel, Word and Power Point
• Must be organized and have good oral and written skills
• Basic Mathematic, calculation and problem solving skills
• Must have attention to detail, be willing to comment on issues, and take responsibility for decisions
• Must work well with other people and as a team
• Must be able to work without direct Supervision
• Must be versatile and adaptable
• Must be able to lift 15kg continuously throughout the day and up to 25kg occasionally
