Job summary

InterMetro Industries is seeking a Materials & Inventory Supervisor for our Wilkes-Barre Manufacturing Plant to ensure optimal material flow and on-time delivery.

You will lead all activities for ordering, movement, storage, and processing of inventory, manage KPIs, collaborate with IT on inventory applications, and supervise staff while maintaining ethical standards and budget controls.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and minimum of 10 years of relevant experience required.
  • Materials and Inventory Management, Supply/Demand Management, Supply Chain process and procedures, and Oracle/Gains systems experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains appropriate quantities of raw materials, semi-finished goods, WIP, and finished goods to ensure on-time delivery and minimize outages.
  • Directs activities for ordering, movement, storage, and processing of inventory.
  • Monitors forecasts, quotas, and production capacity to ensure availability of needed materials.
  • Defines and implements KPIs for material and inventory factors like cost, availability, quality, and delivery.
  • Analyzes inventories to improve turns, reduce waste, and optimize vendor relationships.
  • Oversees purchasing, MRP, warehousing, receiving, and related processes; supports interplant shuttles and shipments.
  • Supervises staff, hires, trains, evaluates performance, and administers corrective action.
  • Ensures training on Code of Business Ethics and promotes a compliant workplace.

InterMetro Industries is seeking a Materials & Inventory Supervisor for our Wilkes-Barre Manufacturing Plant.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Responsible and accountable for maintaining appropriate quantities of raw materials, semi-finished goods, WIP, and finished goods at all times to ensure on-time delivery to customers. Minimizes and/or eliminates part outages, inventory discrepancies, and cost variances.
  • Directs all activities & processes for ordering, movement, storage, and processing of inventory.
  • Monitors forecasts, quotas, and production capacity to identify changes. Develops and implements appropriate actions to ensure availability of needed materials, parts, and pieces.
  • Defines and implements leading & lagging KPI’s for measurement, evaluation, and action planning of material & inventory factors such as product cost, availability, proper quality, and delivery.
  • Analyzes inventories to determine improvements for inventory turns, waste reduction, vendor relationships, and optimized internal & external responsiveness.
  • Designs, implements, sustains, and improves activities & processes related to purchasing, material requirements planning, inventory control, warehousing, receiving, and all relevant areas of the Department.
  • Responsible and accountable for successful execution of WMF cycle count program and annual physical inventory. Takes proactive action to improve and expand inventory accuracy reporting and programs.
  • Directs and oversees all interplant shuttles and shipments to Distribution Centers.
  • Performs individual Buyer duties as required.
  • Promotes and ensures the use and sustainment of Performance Excellence and 5S principles.
  • Collaborates with IT to analyze & create enhanced functionality in inventory & materials applications.
  • Fiscal – Responsibility and accountability for planning, monitoring, and managing departmental budget.
  • Supervisory – Supervises the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work, ensuring quality standards. Is responsible for hiring, terminating, training, and developing, reviewing performance, and administering corrective action for direct reports. Plans organizational structure and job content.
  • Ensures all current and new employees under your supervision are trained in the Code of Business Ethics, in its meaning and application. Periodically reviews the Code with employees under your supervision and ensures they attend the annual ethics refresher program. Maintains a workplace environment that encourages frank and open communication, free from fear of reprisal, concerning compliance with the Code.
  • Other duties as assigned.
