Job summary

DLA Careers is recruiting for a warehouse/disposal position in a U.S. government facility. The role involves receiving, inspecting, and disposing of a wide variety of materials, with emphasis on accurate documentation, demilitarization, and proper handling.

You will perform inspections, classify items, and coordinate with teams to ensure safe, compliant processing. Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, pass a pre-employment physical, and be prepared for an overseas rotation with a 36-month tour.

Qualifications

• Experience with adherence to SOE (screen-out elements) and qualification standards.
• Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting (up to 50 lb) and work on various surfaces.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain necessary licenses/certifications.

Responsibilities

• Receives, examines and determines the condition and disposition of a wide variety of materials.
• Reviews disposal turn-in documents and ensures data accuracy (stock number, nomenclature, quantity, unit of issue, etc.).
• Visually inspects usable property for condition and acceptability; determines DEMIL and special handling requirements.
• Verifies demilitarization codes, challenges questionable items, and maintains segregated storage for DEMIL-required property.
• Ensures proper certification is attached to turn-in documents and performs periodic inventory adjustments.
• Operates forklifts and related handling equipment to move, load, unload, and stack palletized materials.
