Job summary

Molex Connected Mobility in Lisle, IL (United States) is seeking an Innovation Engineer to advance advanced materials, testing methodologies, and engineering solutions that drive product innovation and manufacturing excellence.

You will partner with product engineering, manufacturing, quality, and innovation teams to solve complex technical challenges, validate materials, and share knowledge that strengthens Molex engineering capabilities across programs.

Qualifications

Background in materials science or engineering with a focus on materials testing.
Experience with materials characterization and lab evaluation.
Ability to apply statistics and data analysis to identify trends.
Strong documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead investigations into material behavior, performance, and reliability across metals, polymers, plating, and emerging materials; develop experimental plans and material digital twins.
Conduct root cause analysis and failure investigations; perform material characterization and data analysis to support decisions.
Design, execute, and interpret product and material validation testing; develop test methods and acceptance criteria.
Capture and share technical knowledge; develop guidance and training materials for engineers and technical teams.
Collaborate with product development, manufacturing, supplier quality, operations, and external partners to address technical challenges.
