Job summary

Construction Specialties, Inc. is seeking a Material Handler to load, unload, and move materials within plant and yard environments. The role involves reading work orders, identifying materials, and coordinating with departments to schedule movements.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED with related experience, basic math and computer skills, and the ability to lift up to 60 lbs. Safety and EMS compliance are emphasized.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 6–12 months related experience or equivalent.
  • Ability to read work orders, identify labels, shipping notices and material movement requests; write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift 25–60 lbs for 70% of the time and reach with arms.

Responsibilities

  • Performs safety inspections on required equipment and reports discrepancies.
  • Reads work orders or follows instructions to identify materials to move.
  • Opens containers and loads/unloads materials by hand.
  • Loads materials onto pallets and secures them for transport.
  • Moves materials to designated areas and attaches identifying tags.
  • Coordinates with supervisors to schedule material handling activities.
  • Operates industrial truck or hoist to move materials.
  • Ensures compliance with ISO 14001 EMS.
