Duties
- Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks and carts, either gasoline or electrically powered, on a daily basis while receiving incoming shipments or items.
- Selects and sets up proper storage areas for materials within the general warehouse plan considering size, shape, quantity, use, and possibility of damage, deterioration, and contamination to or from other items.
- Checks condition of shipping containers prior to loading and ensure shipments are loaded into proper conveyances.
- Coordinates property turn-in dates with DOL warehouse and/or DRMO, and ensures the loading and delivery of such property.
- The incumbent may work inside areas that are hot, cold, damp, drafty, or poorly lighted. The incumbent may work in bad weather in such outside areas as open docks and storage yards.
Requirements

- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a certificate of medical examination and a Tier 1 background investigation.
- May lift and carry items that weigh up to 40 lbs. The heavier items are moved with weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers.
- Ability to work an irregular schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and split-shifts.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:Demonstrated ability and knowledge directly related to the duties to be performed as identified above.Ability to do the work of the position withoutmore than normal supervision, and the ability to interpret instructions and specifications.Position requires the incumbent to possess a valid Driver's License, and the ability to obtain a Government License.
